He was.

He was a part of what made him what he is today. He always wanted to make it a better place for everyone. All he ever said was that we all need to learn from each other. The people he did nothing for were very sad and had very limited support from their families as they would get angry when anyone dared touch their children or loved ones.

Solar cell breakthrough

Scientists believe that the ability to generate a stable solar cell, which is needed for mobile devices, is achievable. The results of a major recent study published in Nano Letters show that a semiconductor made from the natural gas hydroxyl group can capture sunlight as it is absorbed by a thin layer of carbon material.

One of the major challenges currently facing solar cell manufacturing is the need to convert a material, such as carbon dioxide, into solar cells that can charge a battery without adding significant weight, says Prof. Daniel van der Linde, the research lead. The breakthrough shows that the hydroxyl groups are able to act like a sponge, sucking solar radiation out of the medium into the material, providing an advantage over previous generation solar cells. In a new paper reported by Nature Communications in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, van der Linde and his colleagues demonstrated that the nanocouple-shaped hydroxyl nanowires are able to capture the solar rays of light from the sun to drive chemical reactions, while absorbing the remaining solar radiation and storing it in the nanocunets.

Although there is a wide range of solar photovoltaic (PV) cell materials available today, the researchers found that one of the problems is the need for high voltage, which forces a material such as silicon or polysilicon to act like a super-dissipating agent in water. They are working with a different material, hydroxyl carbon nanotube-nanowires (HCN/NOO), as a new material to achieve a solar cells that can store the high-voltage current while retaining its ability to absorb solar radiation. HCN/NOO is a very efficient supercapacitor, although its chemical stability limits its potential use as a solar cell.

"We were looking for a suitable material to be more efficient and efficient at capturing the high-voltage current and the ability to handle the current drop without damaging the material," van der Linde tells ISRO. The team is now also working on how to improve the surface properties of the nanocunets to be able to withstand high-voltage and high-current. "And this has to be done for two reasons: To prevent them from getting sticky and to give them that high capacity," van der Linde says, adding that this may require an upgrade to the materials used in the process.
